  • ITMA ASIA + CITME 2020 ON TRACK FOR NEXT JUNE SHOWING

Industry leading textile machinery manufacturers affirm their support

Despite the ongoing global coronavirus pandemic, the combined show continues to receive the support of exhibitors from 25 countries, including the world’s most established textile machinery brand names.

Among the major exhibitors allocated space are: CHTC, Danis Makina, Electro-Jet, Eton Systems, Fong's, Groz-Beckert, Itema, Jeanologia, Karl Mayer, MS Printing Solutions, Muratec, Oerlikon Barmag, Picanol, Reggiani Macchine, Rieter, SDC Enterprises, Santoni, Saurer, Savio, Shima Seiki, Staubli, Toyota, Tsudakoma, Vandewiele and Vanwyk.

Dr Dirk Burger, CEO/CSO of Truetzschler Group, said, “We have never missed any ITMA ASIA + CITME exhibition since its first edition was in Shanghai in 2008. While this has been a difficult year for everyone, we are glad that the exhibition will take place next year so that we can connect with our customers face-to-face. After all, the combined show is the most significant platform in Asia and so we still need to have a consistent presence in this important market.”

Fellow exhibitor Jordi Juani, Asia Division Director of Jeanologia, agreed, “ITMA ASIA + CITME is one of the most relevant shows where we release the latest information on our products and services. Since we are focused in the Asian market, we want to be closer than ever to our customers, attending the show and giving extra support through our China team and our new hub in Hong Kong, China.”

The show owners, CEMATEX and Chinese partners - the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT (CCPIT-Tex), China Textile Machinery Association (CTMA) and China Exhibition Centre Group Corporation (CIEC), are pleased with the firm support and scale of the exhibition.

Mr Ernesto Maurer, President of CEMATEX, explained, “The pandemic might have disrupted the world but exhibitors are eager to resume their marketing efforts. Therefore, the show has not suffered a significant change in support. While there have been some concerns about international business travel from some quarters, the combined show is still gearing up for a mega showcase.”

Mr Wang Shutian, Honorary President of China Textile Machinery Association (CTMA) concurred, “Due to the global epidemic, some overseas participants have adjusted their exhibition plans. Still, we will have the presence of internationally renowned textile machinery manufacturers. Once conditions permit, we will be embarking on roadshows to promote the exhibition.”

ITMA ASIA + CITME will take place from 12 to 16 June 2021 at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre (NECC) in Shanghai. It will be held over 6 halls with a gross exhibition space of 170,000 square metres. It is organised by Beijing Textile Machinery International Exhibition Co Ltd and co-organised by ITMA Services. Japan Textile Machinery Association is a special partner of the show.

The last ITMA ASIA + CITME combined show in 2018 welcomed the participation of 1,733 exhibitors from 28 countries and economies and registered a visitorship of over 100,000 from 116 countries and regions.

  • ITMA ASIA + CITME GEARS UP FOR STRONG SHOWCASE IN JUNE 2021 DESPITE CURRENT ECONOMIC CHALLENGES

10 September 2020 – Despite a gloomy global economic outlook owing to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, textile machinery makers remain confident about the long-term prospects of the textile industry in Asia, especially China. Shrugging off the effects of the economic slowdown, they have given ITMA ASIA + CITME 2020 a vote of confidence by snapping up space in the seventh combined show.

Show owners CEMATEX and Chinese partners, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT (CCPIT-Tex), China Textile Machinery Association (CTMA) and China Exhibition Centre Group Corporation (CIEC) have received applications from over 1,600 leading textile machinery manufacturers at the close of application period.

Although the deadline has passed, applications for space are still streaming in for the combined show, which will be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre (NECC), Shanghai from 12 to 16 June 2021.

Successful applicants will be receiving their certificate of admission and details of their booth space in December this year. The applicants, coupled with the strong support from various partners and industry associations, have given the combined show the clearest indication yet of a successful showing.

Mr Ernesto Maurer, President of CEMATEX, said: “We are very pleased to see so many companies booking with confidence as the industry moves forward to meet the growing demand of a post-pandemic economy. The Asian region continues to be a bright spot for businesses which are seeking new markets and growth opportunities in challenging times.”

The International Monetary Fund updated in June that in 2021 global growth is projected at 5.4 per cent. It also highlighted that economic growth will be strongest in emerging markets and developing economies, particularly in Asia which is expected to grow at 7.4 per cent.

Commented Mr Wang Shutian, Honorary President of China Textile Machinery Association (CTMA), “The positive economic growth is extremely good news for the industry. The pandemic has forced the industry to face unprecedented challenges. While a full recovery will take time, businesses around the world are already looking ahead to actively seek ways to prompt a market rebound.

“ITMA ASIA + CITME is a recognised brand and we are delighted that the industry continues to support our showcase. This is really a positive sign that industry players are cautiously optimistic about the future.”

Dilo Systems Gmbh, a leading company in the field of complete staple fibre nonwoven production lines, has been a regular ITMA ASIA + CITME participant. Identifying the potential in the combined show, Dr. Gunnar Hemmer, Sales and Marketing Director, said: “Next year’s combined show will be extremely important for all manufacturers as business has been badly affected by the pandemic. It will offer an excellent platform to help us reconnect with Asian buyers as the global economy is expected to improve. With established track record, ITMA ASIA + CITME is in a strong position to support the overall recovery of the textile industry.”

    Refreshed ITMA ASIA logo

As part of its efforts to unify the branding of its ITMA exhibition portfolio, CEMATEX has recently refreshed the design of its ITMA ASIA logo. Moving forward, the new image will be featured in the combined exhibition logo.

ITMA ASIA + CITME 2020 is organised by Beijing Textile Machinery International Exhibition Co Ltd and co-organised by ITMA Services. Japan Textile Machinery Association is a special partner of the show.

The last ITMA ASIA + CITME combined show in 2018 welcomed the participation of 1,733 exhibitors from 28 countries and economies and registered a visitorship of over 100,000 from 116 countries and regions.

  • ITMA ASIA + CITME RESCHEDULED TO JUNE 2021

22 April 2020 – In light of the current coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, ITMA ASIA + CITME 2020 has been rescheduled, despite receiving strong response from exhibitors. Originally slated to be held in October, the combined show will now take place from 12 to 16 June 2021 at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre (NECC), Shanghai.

According to show owners CEMATEX and Chinese partners, the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT (CCPIT-Tex), China Textile Machinery Association (CTMA) and China Exhibition Centre Group Corporation (CIEC), the postponement is necessary due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Mr Fritz P. Mayer, President of CEMATEX, said: “We seek your understanding as this decision has been made with the safety and health concerns of our participants and partners in mind. The global economy has been severely affected by the pandemic. On a positive note, the International Monetary Fund has predicted that there would be global economic growth at 5.8 per cent next year. Hence, it is more prudent to look at a date around mid of next year.”

Added Mr Wang Shutian, Honorary President of China Textile Machinery Association (CTMA), “The outbreak of the coronavirus has caused a severe impact on global economy, and also affected the manufacturing sector. Our exhibitors, especially those from other parts of the world, are deeply affected by the lockdowns. Therefore, we believe that the combined show with the new exhibition dates would be timely when the global economy is predicted to improve. We would like to thank the exhibitors who have applied for space for their strong vote of confidence in the combined show.”

Keen interest at close of application period

In spite of the pandemic, at the close of space application, almost all the space reserved at NECC has been filled. The show owners will create a wait list for the late applicants and if necessary, to secure additional exhibition space from the venue to accommodate more exhibitors.

Buyers to ITMA ASIA + CITME 2020 can expect to meet industry leaders who will showcase a wide array of latest technology solutions that will help textile makers to become more competitive.

ITMA ASIA + CITME 2020 is organised by Beijing Textile Machinery International Exhibition Co Ltd and co-organised by ITMA Services. Japan Textile Machinery Association is a special partner of the show.

The last ITMA ASIA + CITME combined show in 2018 welcomed the participation of 1,733 exhibitors from 28 countries and economies and registered visitorship of over 100,000 from 116 countries and regions.
